ASSO missions
The ASSO ?
As ostomates need extra care and attention, the ASSO, South-West Ostomy Association, continues to train teams of “ostomate contacts” to meet, listen, bring comfort and shared experience to future or newly ostomates as well as to their families and friends.
Meeting officials working with healthcare institutions to inform them of the ASSO existence as well as to promote its action.
Participating as Representative of Healthcare Consumers within the bodies of the regional Territorial Health Council, and in certain healthcare institutions (hospitals or
convalescent centres).
Intervening during the Occitan Stoma Therapy Days with the ostomate contact group in order to raise awareness within Occitan healthcare professionals and demonstrate its efficiency.
Participating in medical research by distributing specific surveys and raising awareness about ostomates' specific needs.
